Valor GPD Case Manager
36-Hour Work Week | $46,353.60 Annual Salary
IS THIS YOU?
This role isn't for everyone.
The veterans we serve have often been failed by multiple systems before they arrive at Valor House. Many are navigating homelessness, serious mental illness, substance use disorders, chronic medical conditions, legal challenges, or all of the above.
You're the type of person who doesn't give up on people when things get complicated.
You know that housing is more than a roof over someone's head. It's stability. It's dignity. It's the foundation for recovery.
You enjoy building relationships with people who may be skeptical of services at first. You can balance empathy with accountability. You know how to navigate community resources, solve problems creatively, and celebrate small victories that eventually become life-changing outcomes.
Most importantly, you believe that every veteran deserves the opportunity to build a meaningful life after service.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
WHY VALOR HOUSE?
Valor House serves veterans and former service members experiencing homelessness or housing instability. We are proud to operate Utah's only Grant and Per Diem (GPD) program serving female veterans while also providing services for male veterans through multiple housing and support programs.
As a Valor GPD Case Manager, you'll work alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team helping veterans secure housing, increase income, access healthcare, connect with benefits, and move toward long-term independence.
Unlike many case management positions, you'll have a manageable caseload and the support needed to do meaningful work rather than simply checking boxes.

There are days that the job is hard, but I think the reward outweighs how hard the job is. The reward of seeing people smile, seeing people come to the front desk and say, ‘thank you guys for everything you do –you’ve really helped me for the day.’
First Step is a great place to come if you truly want to feel like you’re making a difference. It’s really awesome coming to work everyday knowing that I’m valued and that I’m cared for and that not just my work life is important but overall.
Not only does First Step invest so much in their clients and wraparound services to set them up for success, but they do the same with employees. They give us generous time off and really encourage good like work-life balance which is so needed in this field.
I work at First Step House because I feel valued and feel like I’m giving back to my community.
The things I like most about First Step House and my job are that I get to see clients come into the building with no hope at all, and I get to watch them go from no hope to having all the hope in the world, a place to live, a job, and having a fresh life.
If you want your work to mean something, you’re in the right place.
Join a team that shows up for each other and the people we serve.
