Salt Lake City, UT | Part-Time | 36-Hour Work Week
Pay: $65–$70 per hour
At First Step House, we help people build lives of meaning, purpose, and recovery.
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Medical Clinic. This role provides an opportunity to work with individuals who often face significant barriers to healthcare, including people experiencing homelessness, individuals transitioning from incarceration or detox, and people living in permanent supportive housing.
Our clients may be managing both substance use disorders and serious mental health conditions, and many have experienced gaps in consistent medical care. As a PMHNP, you'll have the opportunity to provide thoughtful, integrated psychiatric care while working alongside therapists and other members of our treatment teams.
If you are passionate about recovery-oriented care, enjoy working with complex populations, and want your clinical expertise to make a meaningful difference, we'd love to hear from you.
The PMHNP provides psychiatric care to First Step House clients who are receiving services across our programs. This includes individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders who also experience co-occurring mental health conditions, as well as individuals living in our permanent supportive housing programs who have serious mental illness.
You will work independently to assess, diagnose, prescribe, and monitor psychiatric medications, while collaborating closely with therapists and other members of the client's treatment team to provide safe, coordinated, and person-centered care.
This role requires an understanding of the complex needs of individuals impacted by mental illness, substance use, homelessness, and other barriers to care. Strong professional boundaries, sound clinical judgment, and a commitment to ethical and compassionate care are essential.
